On 15th September, the South-East Wales Business Climate Coalition will host a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing film in Cardiff. The 50 minute film shares one of the clearest public accounts yet of the risks the UK faces from climate and nature breakdown, and why business as usual is no longer a safe assumption. If you haven’t seen it, come.
A briefing, however well made though, is a beginning, not an endpoint. PwC’s Global CEO survey found nearly half of business leaders already doubt their company will remain viable within a decade without significant reinvention, and climate is only one reason why.
The most useful question is what we do together once we agree the risk is real, and that incremental change at the edges isn’t enough, to unpick the ways our businesses models, supply chains and communities are stuck or no longer fit for purpose. And figure out by learning with others, what it’ll take to build regeneration, climate and nature stability into the way we operate, not just how we respond.
That’s one of the key conversations SEWBCC exists to help host. Come to the screening and sit with the truths of our times, then stay for a discussion on what we build with that truth together, with businesses, communities and institutions across South-East Wales who are already asking these questions and need each other to answer them.
Join us to watch the briefing 4:30pm, Tuesday 15th September at Sbarc, Cardiff. More details & tickets here
